Execute web Service

Hi All, Is SQL provide us to integrate our table with web service. My requirement is that i have XML generated and stored XML data in one XML table.Once data gets inserted into XML table i have to call web service to send XML. I am aware that it can be done through front end but i am looking for some option through i can do SQL database directly. Thanks and Regards Ravi K
I;m not sure this in using SQL 2000, but SQL 2005 has this capability to start.
