Getting the most out of my memory
I have a server with 4 CPU’s and 8GB of memory. The OS is Windows 2003 32 bit. I’d like to install SQL 2005 64 bit, but the server admins aren’t willing to move to a 64 bit OS. If I am limited to installing SQL 2005 32 bit standard edition, what’s the maximum amount of memory I can allocate to SQL Server?? /3GB?AWE?

Why you would like to install SQL x64 in this case>?

RAM depends on the operating system installed for SQL Server 2005 32 bit Standard Edition i would suggest to Refer MAximum Capacity Specification in BOL or

Satya, I realize that you need 64 bit OS to install SQL 64 bit. Is the /3GB switch and PAE my best option to get maximum memory allocation?
