how to migrate a maintenace plan?

Is it possible to migrate a maintenance plan from one SQL Server machine to another? I found this article, but the method descibed in it is so complicated. — Marek ‘chopeen’ Grzenkowicz ‘You’re so cute when you’re frustrated.’ — Interpol
I haven’t seen any other method to accomplish the task, I’ve performed the method described in article earlier with no issues noted. Satya SKJ

Yet another good reason not to use them!!! Tom Pullen

It is only one plan, so I guess I’d better migrate it manually. — Marek ‘chopeen’ Grzenkowicz ‘You’re so cute when you’re frustrated.’ — Interpol
Yep, and they’re easy enough to recreate manually. Tom Pullen

What are the other reasons not to use a maintenance plan? I don’t have any issues with them and actually they are very beneficial for me as a beginner DBA.
They’re ideal in those circumstances. What I don’t like about them is their vagueness. E.g. "reorganise data" etc.. what does that mean? I like to have more control, more granular control, myself. Tom Pullen

Even I never had issues with Maint.plans and for critical databases we do have our own housekeeping techniques. Satya SKJ
