Install SQL 2005 Developer Ed missing components

I have SQL Server 2005 installed on my XP desktop. The installation went smooth. But after it completed, I can not see "Management Studio", "Business Intelligence Development Studio". Do you know why?
How to fix this kind problem? Thanks, George

Did you install client tools as well? you need to specify these separately and in addition to the server components. You can re-run setup again and install them.

I went back to try the install client components. I was able to select Client Tools which contain "Management Studio", "Business Intelligence Developement Studio". But the installation showd me the message "The features specified are not valid for this edition of SQL server". I thought SQL 2005 Developer edition should contain the same features as Enterprise Edition. Is it right? Thanks for help!

Has to be XP Professional. I have MS SQL 2005 Developer Ed running on an XP Pro SP2 workstation with all components installed, including BI.

Yes, Developer edition has the same features of Enterprise Edition. Make sure you are using the right installation CD…

Try to un-install everything and reinstall again… MohammedU.

I believe you might need to uninstall and reinstall the tools in order to continue, I have seen this problem but haven’t give much insight to resolve and only way I fixed it by uninstalling and reinstalling again. Satya SKJ

FWIW.. If you are going to uninstall and reinstall you might want to delete the SQL Server directory in Program Files (be aware of the consequences of doing this) – but it seems to me SQL 2005 likes to try and use the settings from previous installs. So if you do have an install that is ‘stuck’ in some way you want to start from as clean a state a possible.
