There is some information in this forum, check Aricles. Ex: http://www.sql-server-performance.com/sqlserver2000_clustering_install_main.asp Luis Martin …Thus mathematics may be defined as the subject in which we never know what we are talking about, nor whether what we are saying is true.

There is no specific service should be started when installing and you may need to stop fewservices may cause installation failure of SQL Server due to a Windows NT/2000 logon failure or time out, you should stop these services before installing SQL Server 2000, and then restart them once SQL Server has been successfully installed. Stop the following services:
IIS – Internet Information Server
Exchange Server
SNA Server
Disk Keeper
SNMP Service
Anti-virus software (such as McAfee)
Backup products (such as ARC Server) After installation MSSQLServer is the main service which enables SQL Server to work and MSSQLAgent is the SQLagent which is used to perform jobs scheduled on the SQL Server. _________
