installing SQL Server 7.0
hiWhile installing SQL Server 7.0 on a server i got a message saying that
"Setup cannot continue because a file that needs to be copied is currently in use. Shutdown other active processes. This error can also occur if virus checking program is being used."
I checked for the files in use but i could not find any such services. please reply

we dont have any anti-virus or anti-spyware software services on this server.
The server version is windows 2000 and operating service pack level is sp4 Thanks Ashwin Reddy

yesterday i found that one antivirus software is running in the background but we are unable to see that in services.Although My job is done, my question is how can one know that what software is running in the background if we could not see in services.

we ran taskmanager and checked all the processes running on the server but we could not find that one. but there is an antivirus running on the server in the background. How can we trace that. please reply Thanks & Regards

It is impossible to run any process that can hide from task manager, what kind of anti-virus application is that running on this server. Satya SKJ

Well, there are often background programs running under the name of "svchost" in task manager. You can even have multiple instances of svchost at the same time.
Check process running with user accounts, other than SYSTEM,LOCAL SERVICE,NETWORK SERVICE.
