Is there a MSDN CD with SQL Server 2000 and SP3a?

I wonder whether there is a MSDN CD for SQL Server 2000 + SP3a. I ask this because some MSDN CDs for OS are the OS + Service Pack. So, I don’t need to keep remember to install SP3a after installing SQL Server 2000.[]

Yes the MSDN subscriber download and a seperate CD is available for SP3a on SQL server part.
If not its easy to get them on MSSQL homepage, I hope you’re aware [].

Satya SKJ
Moderator<br /http://www.SQL-Server-Performance.Com/forum

This posting is provided “AS IS” with no rights for the sake of knowledge sharing.

You do have to install it seperate. They don’t have a CD installation where you install SQL Server and SP3a is automatically part of the installation. Nice thought though.

MeanOldDBA
[email protected]

When life gives you a lemon, fire the DBA.
Thank you for the info. I hope MS will start to include such a CD in the MSDN to avoid unpatched installation.[]

Beware of Service Pack 3 and Service pack 3a having EXACTLY the same screens and looking just the same while in process … it can lead you to some confusion!

I only keep the SP3a CD next to me.[]
If its a new installation of SQL then you should apply SP3a only as SP3 is not available to download, even though its available thru CDs its better to go with SP3a only. Satya SKJ
