What went wrong?
Usually when you export HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareMicrosoftMicrosoft SQL Server80ToolsSQLEWRegistered Servers X and import it on the target machine it should work.

As specified by Frank save that registry key and restore on the target machine in order to get the server details, I never had such issue. Satya SKJ

I’ll do some more testing.
Until now, it did not work.
I’ll have my dev-machine reinstalled to start with a clean solution.
There is a nice SQLDMO solution which avoids the encrypted registry settings: [^][<img src=’/community/emoticons/emotion-2.gif’ alt=’

Appreciate your interest in sharing the tip, but did you get that SQLDMO script to save the registration. Satya SKJ
