Job Failure-Last step to run was step1

Hi, I beleieve SQL Server does not give much info about the reson for job failure.I have seen jobs failed without giving any proper reason for that. Whts your opinions. Is there any way to track whts the root cause for failure.
What kind of job is that having troubles.
The best point is to refer SQL error log, DTS log if its a DTS package, Maint.plan log if it is designed from maint.wizard. Ensure the SQL Agent has required privileges to carry the tasks scheduled in that job. Satya SKJ

Thanks Satya,
Mine is Maint.plan . Yes , i found in some document tht we can check main.plan log or query msdb.dbo.sysdbmaintplan_history table to get more details. My remote system is locked by some other user hence waiting for them to unlock.
