Jobs notification via e-mail

Hello, I was wondering if someone can help me, I am using SQL 2005 and I would like to setup the scheduled jobs to e-mail me when they have completed or failed. I see where to configure the database mail and I also see where to configure the SQL Agent in the alert systems page.

The problem is when I select the pull down from mail system and select the database mail option the test button is grayed out. I do not want to use SQLMail because I think that is for legacy application, all I would like to do is setup my jobs to e-mail me rather then using the NET SEND option.

Would somebody please tell me what I might be doing wrong.
[]
Check BOL for "Database Mail" setup and configuration.
