Tired of seeing these ads
"The post-relational database" How come I don’t see this product in the TPC top 1000?
Some marketing people call it post-relational, but I guess most other people call it a hierarchical database. And as such with its own set of advantanges and disadvantages.

uhh yeah. I wondered if anyone is rushing to chuck their SQL Databases for this thing. I also noticed a lack of any TPC benchs for Cache.
I guess, not really. Such hierachical databases are pretty fast, but very inflexible. I have searched the TPC site, but couldn’t find anything that constrains the TPC to relational databases. So, I guess the vendor has some good reasons either not to participate or not to publish the results. You know, as with all marketing sometimes perception is more than reality.
