master4IDR

I see an error message in my server’s event viewer. 18272 :
I/O error on backup or restore restart-checkpoint file ‘C:program FilesMicrosoft SQL ServerMSSQL$BKUPEXECackupmaster4IDR.ckp’. Operating system error 3(The system cannot find the path specified.). The statement is proceeding but is non-restartable. Also I noticed in my SQL-Server log I have a line like Starting up database ‘master4IDR’, While I don’t have any master4IDR database. And I don’t have any backup plan for it. What is it? Why I have that error message in my event viewer? Thanks,
CanadaDBA
So, you don’t have any database with that name and no schedule job.
The path exist?

I believe you’re using VERITAS for the backups and it creates this database.
So check veritas logs or configure to ignore this database. Satya SKJ

O’ you are correct. I have seen VERITAS name. Let’s check . . .
Yes, I see there is an icon on our server’s desktop indicating "VERITAS Backup Exec". You’re great!!

Then try to configure the Veritas to stop the error, I’m not sure about the process as used this tool 2 years ago. May refer to Veritas website for further information. Satya SKJ
