[Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][Shared memory]

Recently I installed SP4 and after the installation is finished.
When I tried to connect to sql server by QA using windows authentication I got this error [Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][Shared memory]sql Server doesnot exist or access denied I am wondering what is wrong?

Ensure SQL Server services are restarted after the service pack. What login are you using?
Can you ping the server?
Can you log onto the server and connect with one of the tools – Query Analyzer, Enterprise Manager. Satya SKJ
