I suggest to install Windows 2003 afresh rather than going for an upgrade of operating system and it is an easy solution to move databases once operating system is in good state. Search under this forum for moving databases solutions and tips. Refer under Windows 2003 tips link on this website homepage andhttp://www.microsoft.com/sql/howtobuy/windowsnetsupport.asp for information. Satya SKJ

Another thing you must consider SQL SERVER doesn’t work without installing SP on Windows 2003, so please intall SP , sp4 is not recomended because still it having some problem so install sp3a. Regards. hsGoswami
