MSDB in recovery

After rebooting our SQL 2K5 server (with sp2), teh MSDB is now at ‘in recovery’ status. Because of it, other user databases are not functioning or not accessible. How can I make the MSDB functioning again without affecting any existing user databases. I don’t care I lose any jobs or history. Any help on this is very much appreciated. Wingman
do you have a backup of the msdb database? AKTHAR
First check sql error logs for the reason…
If you have the backup then you restore MSDB like a regular user db after stopping the sql agent…

As referred by Akthar if you have a backup you are at safe, if not you have to take backup from another machine (similar setup & sevice pack) and restore here. Also check the location where MSDB is stored should be in good health or check for disk free space. Satya SKJ
