new install best raid?

Hello, I’ve did a search and did not find an exact scenario that fits this project. We have a new Dell 2850 (6x36gb) supports raid 1/5/10 I am installing Windows 2000 Server with SQL 2000. We have about 20 databases light to medium traffic as we are web hosting company. Currently the existing sql server is a 3 disk raid 5 which has worked fine, but the hardware is getting outdated. The server will be about 200 miles away so drive failure would be my biggest concern after that which is speed. They are mostly reads from the database with some writes as well Would I be better of with 3 sets of Raid 1 here or possibly a combination of a Raid 10 with a raid 1? Thanks!
In my opinion, RAID 10 will give you the best overall performance and fault tolerance. —————————–

if drive failure is your top concern and performance is not an issue, consider setting 1 or 2 drives as hot spares
I’ll second Brad on this one. Assuming you’re talking about OLTP. Here is an interesting link about RAID 5http://www.baarf.com/ —
