New Instance SQL 2000

we are using SQL 2000 with SP 3 Microsoft SQL Server 2000 – 8.00.818 (Intel X86) and now we want to create another instance of sql 2000 on it . our setup cd not containing sp3 is is possible to create an instance and also we want set 1433 for new instance with diffrent ip is it possible Sachin Butala

You can have only one default instance of SQL 2K and rest of them will be as named instance. Intially you need to install SQL from the CD and download SP3a fromhttp://www.microsoft.com/sql website in order to apply the latest service pack, also refer to other security information listed on the MSSQL homepage (such as hotfix etc.). Once you’ve installed the named instance on the SERVER NETWORK UTILITY you can mention the different port number to use by client to connect.
