New SQL Server Registration

I just installed MSDE 2000 on Windows 2000 Professional and I’m trying to perform a new SQL Server Registration. I cannot do this because the wizard ends every time with a message saying "SQL server does not exist or access is denied". The wizard is also asking me to put in a username/password given to me by the administrator but it’s me the administrator on this PC and I don’t know the username/password. Also – the MSDE did not install any Query Analyzer, Profiler etc, so I installed them from the CD with MS SQL Server for servers… Any help is greatly appreciated

You need to purchase them. If you installed them from a CD with MS SQL Server for servers you need to pay for it. <img src=’/community/emoticons/emotion-1.gif’ alt=’:)‘ /> You can purchase the developers edition for $49 which includes all the tools. You can also use them if you have an MSDN subscription.<br /><br />MeanOldDBA<br />[email protected]<br /><br />When life gives you a lemon, fire the DBA.
