Nightly Backup

During nightly backup of server MYSVR there is often a failure similar to below:- Time: 23/09/2004 05:04:41 D:MSSQLBACKUPMYDBMYDB_tlog_200409220430.TRN Cannot perform stat(): ([2] The system cannot find the file specified. ) => not backed up. can anyone advise on how to resolve this because i’ve never had such an issue with my backups, also can the file be omitted? cheers
Matey

Do you have any tape backup jobs running on this at the same time? Tom Pullen

Sorry folks about the time delay in answering your questions.
Yes there’s a tape backup that is run, the only thing that i’ve noticed so far is that the transaction log only keeps files for 24hrs and the tape backup runs subsequently after. In this case the tape backup ran after the transaction log backup of the night before i.e. the MYDB_tlog_200409220430.TRN had been deleted and so in theory the tape backup is looking for a file that don’t exist anymore, hence error of not finding the file specified.
Better to reschedule the timings to SQL backup and tape backup jobs to restrict the overlapping. Satya SKJ
