Not able to connect to SQL Server

Hi, I installed MSDE on my machine and when I try to login using sa password, or try to cofigure SQL Server registeration properties to use sa password, I get the error – Login Failed for the user ‘sa’. Not associated with a trusted SQL Server connection. I had chnaged the password of sa using enterprise manager by registering using windows authentication. Also when I try to install SP3 on the machine, it stops giving the error – A strong SA passweord is required for safety reasons. Please use SAPWD for switch to supply the same. Any ideas? Gaurav

Got the answer at http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=322336 My machine is running in Windows authentication mode so it won’t allow me to get in using sa password. But still the problem while installing SP3 remains. Any ideas? Gaurav

You don’t have to install sql2Ksp3.exe. Install sql2KdeskSP3.exe alone if the original package name for your MSDE installation was SqlRun01.msi through SqlRun16.msi. If not, check the MSDE section of the following link:
