OSQL Scripts to know SQLServices detail

Any sql command to know ( since how long sqlservices are up and running ) ?
since i m cycling the errorlog often it’s difficult to see from the error log. For which i’m planning to write a script (osql)which i can execute from DOS command prompt. Any link how to write OSQL Scripts which i can execute from dos command prompt window ?
