perfmon for remote monitoring

How can I use the perfmon on my machine to collect the performance counters data from remote machine.
IF the both the machines are under same network then you can enter the remote machine name under the log settings for PERFMON(SYSMON) application. While using PERFMON (in Windows 2000) under counter logs –> log file properties –> On general tab click on Add button and there you can select the computer name to collect the counters.

When I am supplying the ip add of the remote server for which I want to collect the performance counter info;in the box provided,my local perfmon hanged.I tried thrice but no use. What is the issue?
Can you ping the server using that ipaddress from the local box.
Ensure your account has required privileges to collect PERFMON stats.
May check event viewer on local box and remote box for any information. Satya SKJ
