Query analyzer weirdness going on

Has anyone ever seen this? On a brand new install:
Windows XP Pro
Sql 2k sp3
I have about 6 Enterprise Mangers plugged into an MMC Console, all pointing to internal IP’s through a remote VPN connection. In Query Analyzer (QA), if I have one or more other query windows currently open and I go to choose File from the menu, it takes a good 20-30 seconds for the options to drop down. The QA initially shows not responding, sits there for about 20-30 seconds, and then shows the options. It works fine, however, when there are no other query windows open. It’s only when there are other query windows open that this problem occurs. All other menu options work fine (edit, query, tools, etc.) Also, the same problem occurs when I have multiple query windows open and I try to use the keyboard shortcuts found inside the File menu option: CTRL+O, CTRL+Shift+P, & CTRL+P. But this problem does does occur when I try the shortcuts: CTRL+N or CTRL+F4. I turned off windows option to look for other networds & printers, and I checked to make sure each of the remote SQL machines are connecting just fine in the MMC. Any ideas?
Thanks!

No, there are no patterns to this. I even tried it with local machine db and disconnected all remote servers. Same thing occurs. Any ideas?
Thanks!

No, nothing is running. I could have a single blank window connected to the db on same machine and this problem occurs when I try to go up to File menue.

I believe there is a problem with SQL client tools on this box and also check connectivity to SQL server is good and not having any timeouts. May check the behaviour from other instance of SQL tools. Satya SKJ
