Question?

Hi, just installing Microsoft SQL2005 onto a server. We are wanting to install so that the database is located on one partition and the transaction logs are on a different partition. Is there a place where I can change the default location of transaction logs files’ locations? Any help would be great & thanks in advance.[<img src=’/community/emoticons/emotion-1.gif’ alt=’:)‘ />]
I can’t follow you. If you want to install master, mdsdb, tempdb, you can do it in custom/expert mode. Now if you want to create databases, then you can choose where log files goes. More, if allready you have databases, you can use Alter Database to change location. HTH Luis Martin

You can also change the default location by going into the Management Studio, right-clicking on the instance name in the object explorer, going to properties, selecting the database settings and putting in a default. MeanOldDBA
