Raid1 and NTFS
I have a small DB (3Gb) that uses 4K pages and will be running on a Raid1 array with 64K stripe size. The OS is Win2003 srv std.The controller is a MegaRaid with 128Mb cache og batteri backup unit. What would be the best Allocation Unit size to format the volume with? And if I change the DB page size to 8K on the same array, what would then be the best unit size for the volume? Kind regards

As you say it is small Database, what would be the growth in next 2 years. If it is huge then you can consider allocating the sizes now, if not continue with current settings if the performance is not hitting down the rock. Satya SKJ

4K page? Are you using something other than SQL Server? If not, how did you change the page size?
