registering SQL server into EM

Hello, My desktop machine is in domain1, and I have sql servers in domain2. I also have NT login accounts and sql server logins to that domain2 and its sql servers. I am trying to register a server in domain2, into my machine’s EM. I tried with ip address, domain2servername etc. All failed with ‘Invalid Connection: Connection OPen(ParseConnectParams())) Any help greatly appreciated. bill
Did you try to register using SA?

Ensure both the domains are trusted and similar network protocols are used between these 2 servers. Satya SKJ

Hi ya,<br /><br />try registering &lt;server FQN&gt;,&lt<img src=’/community/emoticons/emotion-4.gif’ alt=’;p’ />ort&gt;<br /><br />e.g. sql2.my.dom.local,1344<br /><br />Cheers<br />Twan
Ask your network admin about whether domain1 and domain2 are trusted to each other in order to connect SQL servers. Network protocol can be set using Server network utility on SQL server and Client network utility on Client installation, if you use TCP/IP as a defautl netlib then ensure to keep the same on the client tools also in order to connect. as a first step , try to connect to ur server using QA with SA, use proper naming for ur server.Once u can, means , same u can use for EM registration. if not means, u have to check the Protocol settings for both. Rajiv
