I’m having an issue with one of my SQL 2K5 server. I’m trying to schedule my full-text catalog and I get SQL Server does not allow remote connection message. I checked the server and it is configured to allow remote connection for both TCP/IP and named pipes. I also checked and verified that the SQL Server Browser is running. Has anyone experienced this issue? I’m attaching a screen shot of the error message. Thank you for any input. Rinu
If it is named instance….try to pass the port number along with server name and instance name… ex: server1inst1,portnumber MohammedU.
Second time in this week with this issue. I had the same problem months ago. I fixed using Mohammed suggestion. Other way I found is using Client Network Configuration (2000 tools) but setting port dynamically. Luis Martin
