reporting on table data

is there anyway to lable(for example) lookup tables in my sql server 2005 database? i want to be able to query all my lookup tables and report back any empty tables, etc thx.
One set of functionality is called "extended properties." You can use that to label or categorize objects in the database, like adding a "type" you define. Not sure if that’s what you’re after…
