Scripting of linked server configuration
Is there any way to script out the configuration of all linked servers on a given sql server? 4 of our servers now require some sort of linked server setup (with differing logins, etc), and its getting real tricky to stay on top of it. ThanksI have had a look at this and I don’t think there is any built-in facility to do this. Which I suppose means that all you can do is a write a script to generate a script from system tables, but I’d have thought that would involve more effort than manually documenting the linked server configuration in case it needs to be recreated.
