Service Account

I created a domain user account to run my SQL Server 2000 services under, and I noticed that account got added to the SysAdmin role. Why was this account added to the role? Thanks
because the SQL Server Service account needs sysadmin privileges in order to run… SQL itself uses that account to log into sql to manage processes, etc. without sysadmin rights the server would be unable to manage itself Cheers

… and if the SQL deals in any network sharing using DTS or so, then ensure that domain account has required privileges on the defined machines. Satya SKJ
