Setup cannot see 2nd node ?

Hi all,
Have a win2k3 x64 bit 2 node cluster up and running.
Try now to install sql 2005 x64 but 2nd node is only listed as "unavailable" What I’m doing wrong here ?? acki
which account you are using to install, make sure it is part of local admin including cluster admin.
@cb
installer and cluster admin account are local admins on both nodes.

Is it a Active/Passive or Active/Activie? Satya SKJ

Hmm, strange,
checked all logfiles could not find any errors.
I’m a bit stocked here, does any1 have another idea what to do? TIA

another little add on: – tried to install sql 2005 x32 version -> same result -> node unavailable reason unknown
– tried to continue installation (with node unavailable).
dialog for remote login uid/pw is missing, installation continues but hangs on installing sql server cluster resources.
– tried to install sql 2000 x32 version -> nodes available installation would continue ok any other ideas?? acki

ok, after setting up a packet sniffer and running behind the bits and bytes I finally found the solution to this problem. Make sure the "Remote Registry" service is running on second (inactive) node! HTH
