Some SSIS questions…

Hi, forum: 1) We have a 2005 cluster, but SSIS is NOT, although the binaries are on both nodes, and the dtsx files are on the shared SAN drives – what are the advantages of clustering SSIS, is it necessary, and are there any downsides to not doing it – should we? 2) Why for the life of me, I can’t see to be able to import a .dtsx file to the sql server/msdb? It’s certainly not as intuitve as DTS 2000 was. Please advise? THX!
Hi,
Have you made connection through SSMS to SQL Integration service to import dtsx file into MSDB?
SSIS is different and clusteirng is differnt, refer to KBAhttp://support.microsoft.com/kb/913967 &http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms143731.aspx which is most important to avoid any issues on cluster. Once you have to SSIS installed you can usehttp://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms141126.aspx to use them. Another advice is better to rewrite the SSIS package rather than simply migrating or using legacy DTS for future use. Satya SKJ
