Sql 2005 File And File Group

Hi , My database server have 3 drive. And I plan to create data files on D drive. But I am not sure what is the difference if I just create one data file compare between I create multiple data files in the single drive ? C:

If you database grows out quickly and as far as the business case is concerned for accessing parts of data it is better to differentiate multiple data files in this case for the sake of performance. Otherwise having 1 data file with relevant size shoudl do the job. Satya SKJ
