SQL 2005 Multiple Instances
I want to know the Advantages/Disadvantages of having more than 1 instances in SQL 2005 , in short I want to know the Best practices & recommendations on running multiple instances on one OStry refer to this article:

There aren’t any unless the hardware is beefy enough to sustain 1 or more instances of SQL server, it depends on your business case and the availability of the service. Otherwise for the consolidation purpose its best to have the multiple instances on a server. Satya SKJ
