SQL 2005 NO_BROWSETABLE only with cursors?
Hi all, I’m trying to understand if the "set no_browsetable on" applies only to cursors. As far as I can see, this is done when you don’t want to keep typing "FOR BROWSE" for each of your tables being scanned by a cursor. Is this all it’s used for? I just want to understand the general use of this, nothing detailed. ThanksKBAs

Satya, thanks for the quick responce, I read the articles, but they discuss the limitations of the FOR BROWSE and NO_BROWSETABLE statements, not what the statements are actually used for. I think they are used only for application using the sql cursor to select from the database, is that correct?
I’ve never used those, just curious.
Should be moved to 2005 Forums.

You mention 2005 in the thread title …
Look, a miracle happened to the forum category. [<img src=’/community/emoticons/emotion-1.gif’ alt=’

Hm – for reasons unbeknownst to men and women alike, this thread popped up on my Active Topics. After the disappearing logins, this is a new one … Let’s hope the new forum software is up and running soon!
That’s because Frank has modified (moved) to relevant forums [<img src=’/community/emoticons/emotion-1.gif’ alt=’

Then the miracle must be how Frank stumbled across this one. Or are you guys making preparations for the big move, behind the scenes?
Big move is not yet official [<img src=’/community/emoticons/emotion-1.gif’ alt=’

Haha, I have only seen Adriaan’s reply and didn’t even look at the date of the original question. [<img src=’/community/emoticons/emotion-1.gif’ alt=’
