would you guys recommend going sp2 on live production Server??? AKTHAR
Yes. It’ll be fine. the only issue I have found so far is that subqueries are no longer allowed in Output clauses – this broke one SP in one of our applications. This was caught in testing fortuantely. This change is very well hidden in the SP2 books online update at the very bottom of the OUTPUT topic. It’s obscure though and unlikely to affect many people I wouldn’t have thought.
No issues… but if downloaded SP2 before 5th March don’t use it…
Down load again to get the hotfix included SP2… MohammedU.

If you are using database maintenance plans on the SQL server where SP2 is applied or thinking to apply then ensure to apply the patch for DB maint.plans too. Satya SKJ

Just now I got an email from Tony Rogerson (SQL User Group) cofirming that the following one post patch bug…
SP2 – Check Database Task on Maint only ever does master
http://sqlblogcasts.com/blogs/tonyr…base-task-on-maint-only-ever-does-master.aspx We have recently seen the release of SP2 and SP2a for SQL Server 2005. SP2a was released due to a bug in maintenance plans You can read the details of the bug here Maintenance Plan Changes in SQL Server 2005 SP2 the re-released service pack here SQL Server 2005 Service Pack 2 Rereleased as well as details of an outstanding bug (I mean one thats not fixed rather than a really good one) here SP2 – Check Database Task on Maint only ever does master. If you want to understand this more then I suggest you come to the usergroup meeting in April.
