SQL Agent Mail

I have configured the SQL Agent mail by creating the MAPI profile on outlook 2000. I have also created a separate profile for the SQLMail (SQL support services) both of the profiles work fine. Automatic alerts are getting out to each operator assigned for the particular job all is fine accept all of this suddenly stops and when I try to send the test message to one of the operator I get Error 22022. if I restart the SQL server agent every things works fine again some time it works for days some time only minutes. Please note that I have a POP3 server setup for the mapi profile accounts and there is no error messages when I try to send/receive the message through outlook. Any help will be much appreciated Regards, Ajjee

You would want to follow and you wouldn’t really want to be skipping or changing steps:

Thanks for your message:
i followed all the steps carefully and i think this is ther reason it was working for days but now its stopping after every 20 min… if I would configured it wrongly it would have never worked in first place. can you be more prescise about the skipping of stepps…..
Can you please check SQL server and SQL agent services are running on same NT/2000 account and same NT/2000 account is used for configuring SQL Mail profile. Please ensure that both the account details (Services & Email profile) should be same.
Please check and let us know.

In general these 22022 errors refers to be if the user account has got any issues such as local system security policy or password failures. I would like to refer this KBAhttp://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;315886 about common problems and limit them. Make sure you can start outlook with this user as the profile.
