sql field type store photo image

i am using sql server 2000 front hand vb 6 and os is xp my project is all students information connected in sql server data base when i stored in photo image stored in sql with my os 2000 it is stored and recall it is opening but in os xp the the above all functioning it is not stored. please find how to store photo image in sql 2000 in which field format and in vb on which control in xp os please find me.

It is easy to store the path of the image in the table using varchar datatype than storing the image itself so that you will be able store and retrieve them using File system objects in Front End application. Otherwise refer this
