SQL Mail with Outlook XP and POP3

I am trying to configure SQL Mail and am having major issues with the MAPI profile. I can get SQL to send the mail to Outlook, but it will sit in the Outbox until the client is launched (I don’t have an Exchange server availabile, only POP3). I’ve read a tip about Outlook 2000 saying that you need to set up the profile in Corporate or Workgroup mode, but that doesn’t seem to be an option in XP. Has anyone had any success with this type of configuration or have any suggestions? Thanks!
Pam

See http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=315886 Outlook 2002 treats non-Exchange servers differently than Exchange servers. Because the mail spooler is run from within the Outlook process space for non-Exchange mail servers, you must have the Outlook 2002 client running in order to send Internet mail. When you log off of the server, the Outlook client shuts down and mail is no longer sent. To fix this problem, you must either use Outlook 2000 or switch to an Exchange server. HTH Jasper Smith
