SQL Server 2000

Hello, I accidently just deleted the uninstall file of Microsoft SQL Server 2000 and now whenever I try and remove it, the program says Unable to find the uninstall.isu so I was wondering is there anyway to delete it another one? Thanks,
~Nate
Hi,<br />why you wants to uninstall it ? well if you have backup of all the system and user database then try installing SQL server again it will create uninstall.isu for you then you can remove . or you have to manually remove those files / folders and have to remove registry entrys tooo.<br /><br /><img src=’/community/emoticons/emotion-1.gif’ alt=’:)‘ /><br />Regards<br /><br /><br /><br />Hemantgiri S. I have no use for it anymore [<img src=’/community/emoticons/emotion-4.gif’ alt=’:p‘ />]<br /><br />but to manually do that do you know what files I would have to look for by chance?
You can try copying uninstall.isu file from another machine where SQL is installed in the similar fashion you have on your machine.
May be this will work.
I’m not sure about this.

Hi,<br />after deleting folders / files of sql installation from program files you need to remove registry values from Hkey_Local_machine , hkey_current_user .<br /><br /><img src=’/community/emoticons/emotion-1.gif’ alt=’:)‘ /><br />Regards<br /><br />Hemantgiri S. Yes it works as long as operating system is not different.[<img src=’/community/emoticons/emotion-1.gif’ alt=’:)‘ />]<br /><blockquote id="quote"><font size="1" face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica" id="quote">quote:<hr height="1" noshade id="quote"><i>Originally posted by ranjitjain</i><br /><br />You can try copying uninstall.isu file from another machine where SQL is installed in the similar fashion you have on your machine.<br />May be this will work.<br />I’m not sure about this.<br /><br /><hr height="1" noshade id="quote"></font id="quote"></blockquote id="quote"><br /><br /><hr noshade size="1"><b>Satya SKJ</b><br />Contributing Editor & Forums Moderator<br /<a target="_blank" href=http://www.SQL-Server-Performance.Com>http://www.SQL-Server-Performance.Com</a><br /><center><font color="teal"><font size="1">This posting is provided “AS IS” with no rights for the sake of <i>knowledge sharing.</i></font id="size1"></font id="teal"></center>

As you haven’t attempted to uninstall SQL Server installation properly, the program group will exists until it is performed. If not simply remove the group with Right-click of mouse.
