sql server 2000 and network connection

hi every body
im so glade to be a member in this forum
so i need help plz becuz im a new sql server user
i need to create a hospital project
its consists of 3 pcs
one is server and the others is client
so the connection between this pcs is fail from the sql server 2000
but the network is ok and the sharing is done but the problem how i can create the connection between the server and the client in the sql server 2000
so plz i need help
and if there is any pics can include the steps for the connection so i will be so happy to finish this job its complicated for me becuz im a beginer

THANKS FOR THE HELP
BUT WHEN I TREID TO INSTALL SQL SERVER AT THE CLIENT SIDE SO ITS installed correclty
with out any problm but when i tried to install on the server side who use a win2000 sever
i found 2 choice from 3 is avilable
1-local
2-remote
so i choosed remote
and when i clicked on the browse
so its search for thew client and found it
but when i clicked on it and press next
so error msg assert and said invalid computer name and i tried to write the ip address of the clicent but its failed
so i dont know the problme
i ensure the network work properly
ic an access to the client shared folder from the server but i cant access to the shared drive and folder from the client side
but i tried ping command to ping to the server and its work correctly
so i dont know what is the problem
may be inb win2000 setting
i hope i can get help soon

If you’re on the server then choose setup to install locally and remote installation is used when the Server is unreachable physically. Satya SKJ
