SQL Server not starting

Hi..<br />When I tried to start SQL Server from service Manager, in the bottom of the window it displays message as "Starting…" but after couple of seconds it displays "Stopped…"<br /><br />When I tried to access the properties of server from Enterprise manager, it displays following error<br />"Connection could not be established…<br />Reason <img src=’/community/emoticons/emotion-7.gif’ alt=’:s’ />erver does not exist or access denied.connection open() "<br /><br />The only thing I changed before this error was discontinued the Log shipping.<br />This server was primary as well as Monitor server.<br /><br />Any help..<br /><br />Thanks..<br />

Thanks for quick response.
SQL server is now starting, I followed the steps below to fix the error
1) Tried to execute sqlservr.exe from DOS prompt.
2) Server displayed "OS error can not access ErrorLog file"
3) Modified the Security setings for the folder.
Then tried restarting, then it started. Thanks

Anti virus s/w is installed and it updated regularly.
Is there any link between Antivirus and SQL server not starting ?
There is no anti spyware installed.

It could have impact on not starting up the SQL server services if the SQL binaries are in exclusive use of that AV program. Refer to KBAhttp://support.microsoft.com/kb/309422 on guideliness of anti-virus and SQL SErver. Satya SKJ

So, it is access(permission) issue, Isn’t your sql server service account has local admin rights? MohammedU.
