SQL Server Roadshow in San Francisco

I’m thinking about registering for this event. I wonder how many regular posters in SQL Server Performance forums will go. What kind of important information (something not posted in MS website) will be given?<br /><br />Is the price only $99 which includes the event, 1 year PASS membership, 1 year SQL Server magazine? What is that $25 gift certificate mentioned on this website? It is pretty cheap for all these benefits. Do they even provide food?[<img src=’/community/emoticons/emotion-2.gif’ alt=’:D‘ />]
If we had one anywhere close to me, I would definitely go. It’s a great deal for $99.00. MeanOldDBA

I’ve registered for the Dallas event during the month of May 2005, but I’m reserved for another important event (PASS) so this is skipped for this time. Kindly share your experience about this event. Ta. Satya SKJ

Unfortunately, I cannot go to this event too. [<img src=’/community/emoticons/emotion-6.gif’ alt=’:(‘ />]
I went to NEw York and had a great time. You can enter for a lot of prizes (XBOX, IPPOD, Digital Camera, etc.), the have a raffle and the vendors ask the audience questions and whoever blurts out the answer first wins a really good prize. Oh, and you can learn a lot about SQL 2005 as well. I thought Bill from Microsoft stole the show with his introduction, he is a really good and funny speaker. I wish he dod an 8 hour presentation. If you have no idea about the new enhancements in SQL 2005, I suggest going. It opened my eyes a lot and am excited about the performance increase in the new release as they relate to processing, memory and processor usages. My company may wait until SP1 or SP2 to go live, but they said Barnes & Noble went live with Beta 2 of SQL 2005 last November through the X-mas busy season because they liked it so much. I recommend the sessions on installation, upgrades, disaster recovery, database mirroring and snapshots…
Thanks for sharing the experience. Satya SKJ
