Totally strange !! I have never heard of this kinda SQL behaviour/bug. How about if someone has schedule a task to run ‘net stop’ for your SQL Server? Z:>net stop mssqlserver /y
The MSSQLSERVER service is stopping.
The MSSQLSERVER service was stopped successfully. Checking Server Events and SQL Error logs can help to find out the exact reasons. also check out who all have administrator rights for this SQL Server. BTW, is it a production server or you are talking about your local server? Deepak Kumar –An eye for an eye and everyone shall be blind
It is a production server. And I have checked for any such scheduler running. But found none. Regards Riya

— As you said it automatically get switched off after every three days.. is the timings of day when SQL shut down are also same.
if its so, you can run sql profiler and be ready to check who all users have connections with server and check for applications running/contacting this prod server.
any errors in SQL Error and Events logs before it shutdown??
