SQL Server Upgrade – mdac

Hi, I am currently looking into upgrading our architecture from SQL 7.0 to 2000. We will be going from VB 6.0(Win NT), MTS(Win NT), SQL Server 7.0(Win2K) and mdac 2.5 to the following: vb 6.0 (Win2K)
COM+ (Win2K)
SQL Server 2000 (Win2K)
mdac 2.7 or 2.8 Just wondering if anyone has performed an architecture upgrade simular to this. I’m currently putting together a project plan and I’m wondering what kind of issues we might run into along the way. Especially with the mdac 2.5 upgrade. Currently the SQL 7.0 is running on a cluster not supporting any higher mdac other than 2.5. Does anyone know of some helpfull documents or web sites that may be able to help? Thanks…

No issues at my end and refer to this linkhttp://www.sqlteam.com/item.asp?ItemID=9465 which take you thru steps involved. And this Technethttp://www.microsoft.com/technet/tr…chnet/itcommunity/chats/trans/SQL/sql0305.asp chat link, just in case it may help. _________

I don’t think so, anyway setup test platform and process the upgrade to get to know in and out with the help of above links and chat extract. Check this upgrade FAQshttp://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;q261334 page.
