sql2k STD trans. rep. port error

i had to change the port on the subscriber. now the publisher is complaining:
"server x is not registered at server y" (but it is. I deleted the E.M.
registration and registered again using the new port). E.M. now connects fine from Pub –> Sub, but replication is complaining.
I believe you may need to reconfigure replication. Satya SKJ
