I have SQL-Server 2000 and I have run sql2ksp3.exe. Do I need to run SQL2kdesksp3.exe, too?

Sql2ksp3.exe – Updates for database components.
Sql2kdesksp3.exe- Updates for Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Desktop Engine (MSDE 2000). Not required as SP3 for current SQL server has been applied. Satya SKJ

Hey Satya, What’s usage of MSDE? Is it on SQL Server CDs and we install it? Thanks,

cd c:MSDESP3aFolderMSDE where c:MSDESP3aFolder is either the path to the folder into which you extracted the MSDE 2000 SP3a files, or the Desktop Engine SP3a folder on the SQL Server 2000 SP3a CD. Execute one of the following commands:
To install a default instance configured to use Windows Authentication Mode, execute:
setup SAPWD="AStrongSAPwd"
