sqlserver services not starting up
We have our windows server upgraded to windows 2003 and then we revert back to windows 2000 where we are having sqlserver 2000 running. but once after we upgraded windows 2003 and then revert backed to windows 2000.now the sqlserver services are not starting up.. it’s giving an error saying that"The MSSQLSERVER service failed to start due to the following error:
The system cannot find the path specified." i am not sure what could be the cause and how it can be resolved.. any help will be great.. thanks
Check the sql server error logs for more details and check the sqlserver.exe path specified in services window… And try to start from command prompt… "C

Check the event log too. Check if all the data files are intact. The service will not start even if you miss a single data or log file sometimes. Satya
