Standard and Enterprise Editions

We are currently running SQL Server Enterprise Edition on our development server and are planning on replacing it with Standard Edition of SQL Server. Are we going to be able to attach the databases after reinstalling Standard Edition? Are the databases going to be functioning ok? Any potential problems that we may be encountering? Thanks for your help.

That’s not an answer to your question, but since you are going to switch from EE to SE, you might also want to consider a new edition of SQL Server – SQL Server 2000 Workgroup Edition. Choosing an Edition of SQL Server 2000Rediscover the web

Well, to be specific, check differents between capabilities EE vs SE, and if you are not using any aditional capabitily of EE, then there is no problem to attach. Luis Martin

You may lose out many advantages of EE such as extended memory more than 2GB, indexed views, and others as mentioned in the books online under Editions of SQL server –> Featured supported systems. Satya SKJ
