stupid question about the 64 bit server cd

If I buy the 64 bit sql server 2005 cd, do they contain 32 bit management clients, ssis, etc or must I also purchase or download these separately? Thanks
64 bit CD includes client componensts/tools…
You don’t need to buy them seperately… MohammedU.

Hi MohammedU, Thanks for answering but just to clarify, are those client tools that are included 64 bit or are you saying that there is only a 32 bit version of the client tools? Thanks
I believe client client tools are only 32 bit and there are no 64 bit tools…
64 bit CD included 32 bit tools… and I believe they installed in (x86) prorma files folder…

If not you can download from Microsoft and no need to worry on license for client tools. Satya SKJ

Ok, so I can download these tools:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/…60-a13c-4479-9b91-9e8b9d835cdc&displaylang=en
and use them indefinitely with either a 32 bit or 64 bit server.
I couldn’t find anything for SSIS though. Alternatively, does the 180 day trial allow for you to enter in a license number? I installed it but wasn’t prompted for a license number. Is noone here using the 64 bit version of the server or do you all just connect to the server directly? Thanks

When you install sql server make sure you choose/select INTERGRATION SERVICES option which will install sql server buisiness intellegence studion for SSIS. Once you install client tools/components you can connect to 64 and 32 bit sql servers as long as you have the access… MohammedU.

I think both of you are thoroughly confused as to what I’m asking. In any case, I posted this same question in a different forum and got what I think is an answer:

As explained by our answers:
The SQL Server 2005 client tools are fully compatible with 64-bit servers, and all SQL Server supporting services can run alongside SQL Server 2005 in 64-bit configurations. Satya SKJ

If you see my post 4th from the top it is the same answer…

Actually every single one of you is wrong about this. You can’t install the sql tools on the 64 bit media on a 32 bit OS (even though the tools install into the 32 bit program files on an x64 system).
I wasn’t asking anything difficult but clearly you didn’t know what I was asking and have never done this before, so I don’t know why you bothered to respond.
